The Olympic flame, among other things in Sochi, can actually be seen from space.

When the International Space Station passed over the region just a couple of days ago one of the astronauts decided to take a picture of Sotji with his camera. The shoot of Sotji at night is quite remarkable in its detail, it clearly shows the site of the 2014 Winter Olympics.

The Fisht Stadium with the opening ceremony and the Olympic flame is clearly visible as a bright circular structure. And in the middle of this structure, there is a smaller – not completely full circle, with the Olympic flame.

Sochi is a city in Krasnodar Krai, Russia, located on the Black Sea coast near the border between Georgia and Russia. It has an area of 1,353 square miles or 3,505 square kilometers.
